What Makes a Personal Trainer the Right Fit for You?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I always get a kick out of this. People call us up and say ok I need a trainer. I have a goal and I want 10 sessions can I have someone starting tomorrow at 7am! I love the enthusiasm but let’s take a breath for a second…

At Train by Trina we put a lot of thought into Client/Trainer coordination. It is so important to us that we pair you with the Trainer we believe is the best fir for you on several levels:
- Personality
- Skill Set/Specific Areas of Fitness Expertise
- Schedule
- Location
- Goals
Because your Trainer comes to your home, and spends 1 – 3 hours (or more) of your week with you, we want to make sure this is quality time spent with someone who you trust and enjoy being around. And while your Trainer is the Fitness Expert, your health is YOUR business, and you want someone who works well FOR you.

Here is the secret sauce of what I think makes a great Client/Trainer relationship:
1. Compatible schedules: your trainer should adapt to your schedule and make it easy to incorporate and maintain an on-going fitness routine for life!
2. Personality: your trainer will be someone who makes you feel comfortable, who you have things in common with, and whose instruction style works for you.
3. Goals: your trainer will understand and prioritize YOUR goal/goals, as well as bear the necessary skill set and passion to keep you educated, motivated, and as successful as possible!

Train by Trina can help you find the best Personal Trainer for you. All the best in achieving your next best level of fitness!

To Hire a Trainer or Not to Hire a Trainer? That is the question.

Monday, March 12th, 2012

Who really needs a Personal Trainer and why? Some people may be looking to educate themselves in fitness and health and seek the consultation of an expert. Others may begin a new exercise program and after the first week have a celebratory drink only to find you stay on the party bus for 6 months and have to start up again, “for real, this time”. Hiring a Personal Trainer falls into the category of booking appointments, which hold you accountable. Many people are more likely to stick to commitments when they involve someone else, especially if it is a valued relationship.

It’s easy to get into a comfort zone and lack that extra push to move forward. A Personal Trainer is that source of motivation needed to advance you to the next level and work to your true fullest potential.

If you connect to any of these reasons, it might be time to work with a Personal Trainer who embodies all of the fitness goals you want to achieve: knowledgeable, motivational, accountable, and most of all: someone you can trust with your health.

Stay tuned for the next installment: What Makes a Personal Trainer the Right Fit for You?
